Wednesday Wisdom and the Worry Protocol

Do you spend a lot of time and energy worrying? The coach I’m currently working with taught me a new concept called the Worry Protocol. 

You can save time and energy by establishing your own Worry Protocol. Here’s how it works:

  • Pick a day and time that you’ll allow yourself to worry. ie: I will worry on Thursday at 11 am for 15 minutes.
  • Any other time you start to worry you say “Nope, this isn’t my time to worry”.
  • Visualize putting the issue in a mental box and put it on a shelf.
  • Only allow yourself to worry about it at the chosen time for the set amount of time, then move on.

I’m going to give it a try! My Worry Protocol is Thursdays at Noon for 10 minutes.
