Wednesday Wisdom and Living in the Moment

My oldest daughter is getting married this weekend! It has been months of planning and looking ahead, but this week I just want to be present, enjoy all the moments and not think about what is next! (High School graduation for my next daughter )

I’m sure you’ve heard the expression “Stay present” and you might be saying “That sounds great, but HOW do I do that?”

Here are a few ways that I’ve discovered…

Tips for living in the moment:

  • Notice your surroundings using your five senses
  • Monotask, stay mindful on just one thing you are doing
  • Practice deep breathing/Meditate
  • Think about things you are grateful for right now
  • Don’t get stuck in worry (it’s always about the future)
  • Repeat a present tense affirmation (an “I am” statement, i.e. I am here to enjoy this moment with my daughter)
