Wednesday Wisdom and the Law of Attraction

The law of attraction basically says what we focus on tends to be what we attract more of into our lives.

While there is no concrete scientific evidence that the law of attraction exists, there is some research to support an increase in success and happiness through positive thinking and visualization. Despite the lack of evidence, many people swear by the law and use it daily.

There is a possible downside however, if the concept is misunderstood and misused. Some people try to just force a positive mindset in any and all situations in order to try and attract more positivity. This can lead to emotional repression. Pushing away negative emotions can lead to emotional and mental health conditions…they need to be acknowledged before they can be healed.

Is it possible to honor your emotions and still practice the law of attraction? Absolutely!

You can do this by feeling your feelings, practicing gratitude and self-compassion, and consciously shifting your energy after processing the negative emotions.

It’s not possible to happy and upbeat all the time. One expert said “instead of forcing positive emotions or repressing your true feelings, you should aim for peace.” (Victoria Stokes)

Once you do this, you may be ready to focus on your desires with a new perspective!
