Detours have been on my mind a lot lately for a couple reasons…
First, our city received a grant for road projects that have to be completed by the end of the year (or before winter hits) so there are detours EVERYWHERE! One day the street you normally take to get someplace is open, the next day it’s closed and you have to find another way around.
Second, I have been feeling so much pressure to find and market to my ideal clients and make my business successful that I feel completely stuck! I decided to take a step back from some aspects and do something completely different to gain back some clarity and spark my creativity again. I applied to, interviewed for, was offered and accepted a seasonal position at a local bookstore! It took me a long time to come to terms with this decision and what ultimately helped was recognizing that I’m not giving up on my dream, I’m just taking a purposeful detour.
So if a road you expected to be open all the way to your destination is blocked, remember there is more than one way to get there ❤️
