Wednesday Wisdom and Resolutions

It’s that time of year when many people are thinking about New Year’s Resolutions.

I heard a statistic the other day that only 8% of people stick with their resolutions the whole year.

Most people have lost steam by the end of January!

What if there was another option?

Well, I’ve got two for you to consider:

  1. Year End Review -

Look back over the past year and note accomplishments, big events, challenges, lessons learned, how you’ve grown … and decide what you want to take with you into the new year and what you want to leave behind. What do you want to do/have/be more or less of this year? Schedule those things in. There are a lot of free Year End Review outlines out there. Ask Google 😊

  1. Theme -

Pick a word or phrase that will guide your mindset this year, and reflect on it when you have big decisions to make or trials to face. Some examples I’ve seen are “trailblazer”, “grace”, “freedom”, “love”, “elevate” or “peace”. Think about what you want to do, what skills or qualities will help you create the life you want, what you want or need more of, how you want to feel and/or what your core values are. Answering these questions will help you find the right word for 2024.

I believe these options allow for more flexibility and less pressure.

So if you struggle sticking to your resolutions, I invite you to try one or both of them!
