Wednesday Wisdom and Coping in Crisis

When facing crisis, one of the best things you can do to cope is “shorten your lens length”. You’ll probably be dealing with a lot of emotions and have a lot of decisions to make.

Try to stay in the present rather than looking very far into the future. Thinking about next year, next month, next week or even tomorrow might be too much.

Just focus on what needs to happen today. What do you want/need to do right now, the very next task? What can you do to acknowledge your feelings and take care of yourself as you go through this experience?

After awhile you’ll be able to lengthen your lens to a week, a month, and beyond. But in the beginning, give yourself grace and keep that lens short.

I hope you have a great week!
